Hope is the thing with feathers

That perches in the soul,

And sings the tune without the words -

And never stops at all.

If you're here today, it's probably because you're not feeling so great, and haven't been for some time. You feel stuck, and the daily effort to win out over worry doesn't feel like just an uphill battle, it feels like a summit. There are high levels of stress in some of your family or peer relationships, and after interactions with certain people in your life, it's easy to feel really down on yourself. One event can seem to trigger a downward spiral that can last for days where you'd rather do nothing else besides lay in bed with your pint of ice cream. It seems like it's very easy to become overwhelmed, overstimulated and anxious, and you could easily find yourself about to cry in the grocery line when it's just been one thing too much that day. You've worked hard for yourself and followed the "rules" to be successful in life, so it's confusing when you're still feeling so much turmoil. You feel guilty saying "no" when you need to - giving to others comes naturally to you, but that same ease isn't there when it's time to care for yourself, and you're often left feeling depleted and exhausted. With all of this happening at once, it's hard to navigate a way out of this place on your own. You've lived this way a long time and it's hard to imagine anything different, but you're getting to that point where you're sick of being unhappy and are ready to create some change. You might be wondering where to start, or feeling overwhelmed by the process of even finding the right therapist - a therapist that will get it - that will get you, get how you're feeling, get why it' s happening, and can help you get unstuck from the tangle of stress you're caught in. You're in the right place, and I'm here to help.

I specialize in working with women who are experiencing anxiety, depression, challenging family dynamics, trauma, grief & loss. I take a collaborative, nurturing approach with clients to help them identify the source of their challenges, work through them and move forward. I help my clients learn to capture and conquer their overwhelm and find their calm. I help them reconnect with their authentic selves, feel confident in who they are and build skills to create fulfilling relationships. We take care of what is holding you back so that you can write your story the way you want it to be, not the way your problems want it to be. If you're ready to write your next chapter, you can find out about next steps by following the link below.

I also have extensive experience working with teens, kids & families, as well as couples. Read more on services available by following the link just below.

Why Therapy?

How Can Therapy Help Me?

Here are just a few examples...

Women's Focus

A specific focus on the unique needs and challenges women face in our society. I bring a lens to therapy that considers these influence and how they impact women's mental and emotional well-being to help women thrive in all of their roles.

Leave Perfectionism Behind

The perfectionism plague - it haunts many high achievers, masquerading as a helper when it really holds us back from seeing our successes and potential. Learn to break free of these shackles while maintaining the quality you srtrive for in your life.

Navigate Difficult Family Dynamics

Love your family, but they're making you crazy at times? More conflict and less easy good times? Not feeling prioritized by your loved ones? Learn about family relationship dynamics, communication skills, boundary making and self-advocacy skills to change these patterns to be the positive relationships you hope for.

Move Past the Past - Overcoming Trauma

Sometimes the ugliest side of our world happens to us. Whether you're struggling with memories related to early childhood experiences - highly critical parents, emotional or physical abuse, parent abandonment - or trauma that occurred in your adult life, we can process those memories to help you move past them. EMDR is one of the modalities I use to help my clients make progress towards healing trauma wounds and live a life without constant reminders of these difficult memories.

Improve Confidence & Self-Esteem

On the outside you look like you've got it all together,  but you worry about other's seeing you when you're struggling. It's hard to be comfortable in your own skin sometimes, and when things are not going well, you often doubt your own worth. Learn to see your strengths, grow them, and appreciate who you are. Learn to let yourself be seen by others and form truly meaningful relationships.

Mood Improvement & Stress Reduction

Get to the root of your feelings of overwhelm. Kick self-doubt out of the comfortable place it's made in your chest. Learn skills to reduce stress in your mind and in your body. Learn to care for yourself, reduce your stressors, and make space in your life to grow the life you really want to be leading.

Grow Meaningful Relationships

As humans, we are absolutely built for connection. We require meaningful relationships in our life to feel safe, happy, and make meaning of our world. When we're disconnected and don't feel that sense of belonging, our well-being takes a significant hit. When we learn to cultivate meaningful relationships, and experience the security and fulfillment those kind of relationships bring, we open ourselves to experiencing the best of ourselves and what the world has to offer.

 Grief & Loss Support

Grief is an immensely difficult, and normal, process. Reach out for truly compassionate support to help you navigate times of great loss.
